Tioman Island - 22 Sept to 25 Sept

Drove all the way to Mersing followed by a 1 hour 45 mins boat ride to Tioman island. Sea was calm and the weather was fine. All we did there was eat and sleep except on the 2nd day - we went snorkelling and fishing at the nearby Coral Island. Caught quite a number of groupers, snappers and even squids and had them fried, steamed and cooked sweet n sour for a mere RM10!! The boat ride home was horrendous and longer, the sea was very very choppy but yet the weather was hot. There were a few ocassions when I thought the boat would capsize, it was scary indeed and I felt sick. Alhamdulillah......we survived the arduous journey and reached Mersing safely.

Vabbinfaru Islands, Maldives - home to Banyan Tree Resort. The white sandy beach with crystal clear blue water makes you wanna stay there for as long as time permits. It was a total relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We were there 7 months before the tsunami incident.
Male, the capital of Maldives is the safest place on earth as the crime rate is one of the lowest in the world so you don't have to worry of getting mugged while walking on the streets. Maldivians are 100% Muslim so food is not a problem. Tuna is abundant in Maldives and fishing is one of the main source of income for most Maldivians.
